Zlatan Ibrahimovic looked sharp on his return to action after a nine month lay-off from an ACL injury suffered in April – and he gave a typically entertaining interview afterwards.
The Swede was named as a substitute in the 4-1 win over Newcastle and entered the fray in the 77th minute, replacing Anthony Martial.
The 36-year old didn’t manage to mark his debut with a goal, although he went close, but did look like he had never been away.
And straight after his cameo, Zlatan and fellow returnee Paul Pogba were brought in for an interview and it was wholly entertaining. The stand-out line was from Ibra, when asked about whether he was worried about coming back after such a serious injury.
“No because lions they do not recover like humans,” he said, prompting a giggle from his pal Pogba.
Check out full interview here, with Zlatan going all philosophical and talking about lions around 42 seconds in:
Here’s how Twitter reacted:
Interviewer – "Was there any moment where you though it(recovery) might not happen?
Zlatan – "No, not at all. Lions don't recover like humans."
